JAC Club have lost a dear and respected friend
Mastering the Expirience of OLAF's Communicators Network and the New European Models of Partnership with the Judicial Power
Project of Club JAC
The Project is being implemented within the framework of the Operational Programme "Administrative Capacity" OPAC by the "Journalists against Corruption" Club (JAC Club) in partnership with the Procurator’s Office of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The main purpose of the launched in September 2008 one-year Project is the enhancement of the capacity of the JAC Club in its interaction with the judicial power and the accent falls on the Procurator’s Office. A leading point is the mastering and application of the experience in communications of the European Anti-Fraud Office – OLAF, by accentuating on the audio-visual communications. Special attention is paid to the best European practices of cooperation between the non-governmental sector and the judicial power in counteracting embezzlement of European Funds and corruption. There will be sought new possibilities for the establishment of successful models of partnerships between the judicial power, the media and the civil society.
The basic activities under the Project are in three components:
- Studying the best European practices of partnership and communication – there have been provisioned study tours to OLAF (December 2008) and in Spain (March 2009)
- Application of the best European practices of partnership and communications – shooting of two documentaries about OLAF (the first film is ready and will be shown on Channel 1 of the BNT on February 28 2009) and a film about the experience of the Spanish judicial institutions in combating corruption and embezzlement of the European Funds.
There have also been envisaged international training seminars on:
- The new communication models of OLAF (Sofia, February 23/24 2009)
- Spain’s good practices connected with the partnership with the judicial power and the mechanisms of efficient judicial control (Lukovit, May 2009)
- Designing a strategy for partnership and joint actions between the non-governmental sector and the judicial power.
