JAC Club have lost a dear and respected friend
With deep sadness we receive the news of the death of General Director of OLAF Franz-Hermann Bruener. For us Mr Bruener was not just one of the emblematic figures of the European community, but a man with unquestionable authority, who has set up a European Anti-fraud Organisation as one of the most elite Commission departments.
For us Franz-Hermann Bruener was a dear friend and a friend to JAC Club, we are proud that he agreed to be our honorary member, and that he fully supported our initiatives with the Communication Network OAFCN to work to build a European communication policy to combat fraud by financial interests of the community. For me personally the work on the film “OLAF –The EU Funds Watchdog”, which we did on the occasion of the 10-years anniversary of the office and in which Mr. Bruener participated, was one of the most exciting and impressive experiences in my entire career as a journalist. With his professionalism, integrity and enormous prestige Franz-Hermann Bruener will leave a lasting mark on the entire history of the United Europe.
