Part one of the series "How was implemented the judicial reform in Spain" was presented in Lumier Theater

The judicial reform at this moment is of key importance to Bulgaria. This is a crossroad for our country, said the Ambassador of Spain, Mr. Fernando Arias Gonsales during the premiere of the first part of television coverage series "How was implemented the judicial reform in Spain" at Lumier Theatre this evening.

It is a challenge to explain to one whole country what means judicial reform. Modernization is the most complicate task for a country, added Mr. Arias.

Mr. Fernando Arias Gonsales was announced for a honorable member of "Club - Journalists Against Corruption". He wished the journalists to follow the principle "The higher you are, the higher position you take, above you there always shall be the law".

The release of the series begins on September 28.The first coverage story shall be focused on the work of Duty Court in Madrid, which within only one working day has finalized 15 trial cases, stated the series author Mrs. Reneta Nikolova.

The ten coverage stories, which shall be broadcasted twice per month on the Bulgarian National Television, shall study and focus on Spanish authorities experience in judicial reform.

The series includes all levels of judicial system in Spain - from first instance trial cases and fast court proceeding to the activity of specialized prosecutor's office for fight against drugs, the specialized court for fight against organized crime, money laundry and terrorism.

Special interviews are have been taken from the chairman of National Court Penalty Department Mr. Javier Bermudes, the most protected judge in Spain Mr. Javier Saragosa - Chief Prosecutor at Specialized Prosecutor's Office for fight against drugs, and Mr. Maurisio Moya - Director Directorate for International Cooperation of Spanish Police, as well as magistrates from the Supreme Court in Spain. Most of the people represented have been visiting Bulgaria and have been working on the draft of Penalty Procedure Code.

In the series are shot sequences showing night shifts of police patrols, the "hypermarket" for purchase and distribution of drugs and some of the most dangerous places in Spanish capital. The spectators shall see a real process against captured bosses of the terrorist organization ETA, organized an assault against police officials.

Among the guests on the premiere were the former Prime Minister Mr. Simeon Saxe Coburg Gotha, the ministers Mr. Georgi Petkanov, Mrs. Meglena Kuneva and Danail Vulchev, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Mr. Hristo Manchev, high magistrates, the Director of Financial Investigation Agency Mr. Vasil Kirov.
